Everyone at The Cliffe Minstermen would like to thank 3 York City superstars for giving up time this evening to spend time chatting to our group. Cliffe Minstermen 1st ever player of the season Keith Lowe, midfield mistro Russell Penn and Cliffe Minstermen Life President Chris "Dream" Topping. This was our first ever meeting with guest York City players and I have to say what a credit they are to our club. Keith and Russell were superb guests answering all our questions as best they could. It's not fair to go into each question that was asked but we all came to the conclusion that both players are genuinely happy to play for York City. They spoke in glowing terms of the club both on and off the field. They gave and insight into the hard work and dedication of the chairman and manager along with the other staff at the club. You get the impression that York City is being built up by Jason McGill and Nigel Worthington from top to bottom and that the future does look very bright indeed. What was also great to hear is how they reall appreciate the York City fans. They love the flag displays at home and also admit to being blown away by the away support. Also noticing the Cliffe Minstermen flag at those away games. Also what was very apparent was the respect they have for Nigel Worthington as a manager how proffesional he is, how hard he works, taking all the sessions but really taking on board Steve Torpeys input. It was great to hear that Nigel was a big part in them coming to York City and they felt other players would say the same.
Keith Lowe was presented with his player of the year award by Gary who organised tonight's event.
On sale at the event was The Cliffe Minstermens 2014 summer range.
After the players left we held our Annual General meeting. News from that meeting and more pictures from tonight's event will be posted on Friday.
A big thank you to everyone who came and to Gary for organising tonight's event , a massive thank you to Keith and Russell for giving up their time to speak to us, along with Sir Chris. Also many thanks to the New Inn Cliffe for letting us hold our meetings there. Last but not least thank you to Will for being Will!
