Cliffe Minstermen Life President Sir Chris Topping joined the rest of us for the visit of player of the year Keith Lowe and Russell Penn. Chris was able to talk to the players in a way that only an ex player could. It was fantastic to see the old York City sat alongside the new.
I took the oppertunity to ask Chris which was his most memorable game in his extensive time at York City. Without hesitation he said Arsenal away in the FA Cup, and his joy at holding them to a draw. He was also asked was it true that he was man of the match in both games against Manchester United. Chris said yes and also gave the quote of the night "Which Was Nice" typicall Chris under playing something as important as this. He also stated he would rather have won the games and not been man of the match.
We are hoping that he is able to take time out of his busy schedule to join us on our community trip to Burton in September.
With everything that has been going on this week I have not had chance to post on Lahti's game away at top of the table Helsinki on Wednesday night. The game ended in a goalless draw, leaving Lahti still in 3rd position.
