I nearly choked on my cornflakes this morning when reading the morning paper.
I glanced upon the headline that Frank Lampard and David Villa were about to sign for York City FC.It raced through my mind that the chairman had pulled of the biggest coup in the clubs history by signing these currant internationals.
It was only when I pinched myself and read the article properly that the dream was dashed as they were signing for New York City FC. No Russell Penn short pass to Frank Lampard who in turn Passes to Wes Fletcher who flicks it on David Villa and goal. York 4 Bury 0.
It seems that the owners of Manchester City are intent on buying the title in America just like they have done in the premier league. What grates on me is that New York City FC should have always been a franchise or a Feeder Club for York City FC. If Manchester City wanted a US team then call them New Manchester City FC, don't steal our name!
